The design is based on Broadcom BCM2835 system on chip with 700MHz single core ARM1176JZF application processor, Dual Core VideoCore IV Multimedia coprocessor and 512MB RAM. The Raspberry Pi A+ board is powered though a 5V micro USB connection and can run a variety of open source Linux operating systems.
